Several persons arrested in Hundred Lane during curfew

by August 23rd, 2018

The St. Andrew North Police say several people have been taken into custody since the imposition of a curfew in Hundred Lane and Park Lane, yesterday (Aug 22).

The curfew was imposed on the communities following rising tension, after a gun attack on the spouse of an alleged area leader on Tuesday.

Deputy Superintendent of police in the St. Andrew North division Dacy-Ann Graham says police are conducting operations.

She says no arrest has been made in relation to the murder of 37-year-old Hafia Fowles, who was shot and killed in Hundred Lane, on Tuesday evening.

Yesterday, the head of the St. Andrew North division said additional resources were deployed to the Hundred Lane community, to prevent a reprisal.

The curfew began at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22 and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24.
