International dancehall deejay Shaggy is set to play Sebastian the Crab in the live concert production of The Little Mermaid, to air on ABC in November.
The network announced Monday that Shaggy had been cast to play Sebastian alongside Queen Latifah who is set to play Ursula and Aulii Cravalho as Ariel.
Several social media users including fans and entertainers have congratulated Shaggy on landing the fantastic opportunity.
The live musical event is set for airing on November 5 as part of The Wonderful World of Disney franchise honoring the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid.
In relating news, the soundtrack for the Little Mermaid animated movie which has won multiple awards that include a Grammy and an Oscar was created at IRIE FM’s Grove Studio in the 90s.
