Shamera Sterling signs Adelaide Thunderbirds for the 2019 Super Netball Season

Senior Sunshine girl defender Shamera Sterling has been signed by the Adelaide Thunderbirds for the 2019 Super Netball Season.

Sterling is the first signing for the incoming coach of the struggling club that has so far failed to win a game after 12 rounds of the current season.

The highly-rated defender comes in as the MVP of England’s Elite Netball season while playing for the Loughborough Lightning in the 2018 vitality Netball Super-league.

The 22-year-old Jamaican impressed with her agility and 101 interceptions from just 18 games during the season.

She also had the most interceptions during the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia where Jamaica’s Sunshine girls won the bronze medal.

Sterling joins her Jamaican team mate Shimona Nelson who is also at the club.
