Shanice Love produces big personal best

Former Excelsior High outstanding thrower Shanice Love produced a big personal best to open her Collegiate Sophomore campaign.

The Florida State University (FSU) second-year athlete won the women’s discus event at the UCF Black & Gold invitational with a lifetime-best of 56.38 meters.

Love led an FSU sweep ahead of Ieva Zarankaite 54.00 meres flat and Jamaican compatriot Gleneve Grange 51.92meters.

The mark surpasses her previous best of 54.37meters set last year at the NCAA outdoor championships by a massive 2 full metres .

The mark ranks number 3 on FSU’s all-time list and is the 3rd best throw in the NCAA this season behind another Jamaican Tara-sue Barnett’s 58.78 meters.
