Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce has been shortlisted for the Laureus World Sports award

Jamaica’s four time world champion Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce has been shortlisted among the nominees in the sportswoman of the year category for the Laureus World Sports award.

Pryce had an outstanding year capping gold in the 100 meters and 4×100 meters at the Athletics World Championships in Doha Qatar in September.

She also took gold in the 200 meters at the Pan Am Games.

It comes less than two years after giving birth to her first child.

Among the other nominees are fellow athlete Allison Felix, American gymnast Simone Biles, Japan’s tennis star, Naomi Osaka American world cup winning footballer Megan Rapinoe and American skier Mikaela Shiffrin.

Among the male nominees for the Laureus sportsman of the year award are formula one driver Lewis Hamilton, Kenyan marathon star Eliud Kipchoge, footballer Lionel Messi, tennis star Rafal Nadal, golfer tiger Woods and motor cyclist Marc Marquez.

Meanwhile Fifa world club champions Liverpool have been shortlisted among the nominees in the team of the year and comeback of the year category.

The Reds are in that category for overturning a 3-0 champions league semi-final first-leg deficit by beating Barcelona 4-0 in the champions league

Tennis star Andy Murray is a comeback of the year nominee after returning from surgery.
