Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce second in women’s 100 meters at Gala Dei Castelli International

Two time Olympic champion shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was a creditable second place finisher in the women’s 100 meters at the gala Dei Castelli International Athletics Meeting in Switzerland yesterday.

Fraser-Pryce, posted 11.15 seconds behind home town girl Mujinga Kambundji of  11.13 seconds.

World Championship relay gold medallist Nesta Carter won the men’s 100metres b’ race, in 10.24 seconds ahead of compatriot Asafa Powell who was third in 10.44 seconds.

Former Jamaican sprinter Jak Ali Harvey now running for turkey clocked a season best 9.99 seconds to finish as runner up behind winner Aaron Rodgers of the united states in the a’ race.

Rodgers won the event in 9.92 seconds.

Another American in world championship and Olympic gold medallist Justin Gatlin was fourth in the event in 10.13 seconds.

In the field Jamaican Tajay Gayle produced a life-time best performance to win the men’s long event.

The 22 year old Gayle leapt a new personal best of 8.19 meters to improve on his previous best of 8.17 meters which was done at the Rome Diamond League in May.
