Simone Facey withdraws from Jamaica’s 2018 Commonwealth Games ..citing uncomfortable travel arrangements

Jamaican sprinter, Simone Facey has withdrawn from the 2018 Commonwealth Games to be held the Gold Coast in Australia next week due to watch she describes as “uncomfortable” travel arrangements.

In a post on her face-book page, the athlete said……..she wasn’t comfortable with the travel arrangements that she received, explaining that it would take her 40 hours almost two days to reach Australia.

Facey expressed that she was “very disappointed and heartbroken” and wished the Jamaican team all the best.

The Commonwealth Games will officially open on April 4 and Jamaica will be represented in a record 15 sporting disciplines. Those disciplines include Track and Field, Swimming, Netball, Gymnastic, Wrestling as well as Badminton, Squash, men’s Rugby and the women’s Basketball event.
