Skatta calls for industry unity to fight Noise Abatement Act

by September 3rd, 2019

Skatta Burrell is urging industry players to unite in a bid to protect the music and culture against the ills of the Noise Abatement Act.

Skatta via Instagram outlined in part that the action by law enforcement officials to cut off events early does not equate to a reduction in crime.

Renowned for his controversial statements, Skatta further laments that entertainers, producers, managers, promoters, media houses, and other industry players should put in place infrastructures and regulations to ensure that our music and culture are protected.

Skatta Burrell’s comment comes after partygoers were left disappointed when police pulled the plug on Footloose held a Mass Camp on Sunday.

In April this year, the government claimed steps are being taken to amend the Noise Abatement Act and the hosting of entertainment activities.

Currently, under the Act, entertainment sessions must end at midnight on weekdays and at 2:00 am on weekends.
