Each constituency is to be assigned a social worker who will help residents access various government support initiatives.

Labour Minister Karl Samuda made the announcement in parliament today, while making his contribution to the sectoral debate.

The assignment of social workers to each constituency forms part of the ministry’s poverty intervention programme.

In addition to the social workers, the government will be increasing funding provided to constituencies, to help the most vulnerable.
