As consumers brace for an increase in the price of flour, some Jamaicans have expressed their discontent, over what they have described, as the never-ending hike in the prices of food in the country.

Jamaica Flour Mills recently announced a 6 per cent increase in the price of flour, starting as soon as next week.

This, as the company says, prices for wheat and grain have soared.

One Jamaican from Portland told IRIE FM news that the continuous increase in food prices, especially for a basic item such as flour, has encouraged him to act more economically.

Meanwhile, one man from Kingston laments, that the hike in the price of flour will have an impact on persons from poorer backgrounds, as in many households, flour is usually the main staple in many of their dishes.
