by September 28th, 2017

Jamaica’s senior national netball team is now locked in a battle with South Africa to maintain fourth spot in the international netball federation (INF) World rankings after increasing pressure from the Africans who were more active in 2017.

The International Netball Federation (INF) world rankings have been updated to reflect matches played between July 1 and September 13 this year, and the South African netballers are now on 141 points but still in fifth spot, 8 points adrift of the less active sunshine girls in fourth place on 149.

South Africa defeated Fiji 2-nil in a recent series and beat England in the quad series which included Australia and New Zealand.

As for Fiji, their series defeat to South Africa sees them fall one place into 8th, and wales benefit as they rise one place into 7th.

Australia remain the world’s top-ranked team, followed by New Zealand and England.
