The 2 St. Ann cops accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Runaway Bay last month have been charged.

They are constable George Richards and district constable Andre Hoilet of the Runaway Bay police station.

They were charged with rape yesterday (June 1) following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The 2 cops appeared in the St. Ann parish court yesterday before parish judge V. Facey, where bail was offer to both in the sum of $300,000.00 with 1 to 3 sureties.

They are to return to court on September 5.

Reports are that on May 22, the cops assaulted the woman and following investigations they were taken into custody.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) has been informed of the incident.
