St Ann MC doing best to truck water to drought stricken areas

by May 11th, 2019

Chairman of the St. Ann Municipal Corporation Mayor Michael Belnavis said the corporation has been doing its best, to truck water to drought affected communities, especially those in the hilly, southern section of the parish.

This after residents of some areas complained about the inadequate trucking routine of the corporation, as well as that they have been without the commodity for months.

Mayor Belnavis said the corporation’s 2 trucks are out of service, and as such, private truckers are being contracted to carry out the water delivery duties.

He said communities on the northern end of the parish are not as badly affected by the drought, but where water supply is short, the corporation assists with trucking.

The mayor explained that the Seville area, has a specific challenge that is being addressed by the national water commission.
