The St. Ann police are maintaining a strong presence at the White River in Ocho Rios, to ensure law and order at the facility.

In March, the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) carried out an operation at the river, removing several rafts and other items used by raftsmen.

TPDCo said it had received numerous complaints of illegal activities at the river.

The complaints included sexual harassment claims, raftsmen operating in a drunken state, other criminal activity, and a prolonged breach of the river rafting act.

Giving an update on the operation recently, head of the St. Ann police Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell said lawmen continue to monitor the situation, to ensure law and order.
