The St. Ann police are again urging citizens to find more amicable means of resolving disputes, instead of violence.

This after a man was shot and wounded by another man with whom he had an argument, in Ocho Rios this afternoon (Apl 15).

Head of the St. Ann police Superintendent Gary Francis says checks have revealed that the 2 men have been involved in a dispute for some time.

The matter reportedly escalated today, resulting in one man using a gun to shoot the other.

Superintendent Francis says the police were alerted and the wounded man was taken to hospital, while his attacker taken into custody.

The wounded man is said to be hospitalised in stable condition; his wound is not life threatening.

Police say the alleged attacker was attempting to flee the parish when he was accosted.

A .38 revolver, and 4 rounds of ammunition, were seized from the alleged attacker.

Superintendent Francis says the police are also questioning other persons in relation to the matter.
