A man, who was in police custody in St. Catherine, died at hospital yesterday (Mar 20).

Dead is 41 one year old Kevin Sawyer of Palmerston Road, Portsmouth, St. Catherine.

Sawyer was being held at the Portmore police lock-up, in relation to a charge of shooting with intent.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 6:15 a.m. yesterday, Sawyer complained of feeling ill and was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died while being treated.

Police say Sawyer was taken before the court on Wednesday, March 14 and was expected to return tomorrow.

Investigations continue.
