St. James man charged for harbouring female wards of the state

Two female wards of the state were rescued in retirement, Granville in St. James, last evening (February 9).

A man has also been charged for allegedly harbouring the girls.

Charged with Harbouring a Child, is 39-year-old Prince Mckenzie, a shopkeeper of the community.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, at about 9pm, lawmen received information from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, that the girls who had escaped from a group home, were at a location in St. James.

An operation was carried out and the two girls were found in the company of Mckenzie, at about 9:30 p.m.

He was charged, while the girls were taken into custody and will be placed before the Family Court.
