St Mary police charge 2 men for murder of toddler, amid protest by residents

by March 21st, 2018

The two men taken into custody last week in relation to the murder of a three year old child last month have been charged and are to appear in court tomorrow (Mar 22).

Kelecia Matthews, otherwise called ‘Pooka’, of Cane Lane, was shot and killed on February 14 while walking home with her stepfather.

This morning (Mar 21) residents in Annotto Bay staged a second protest along the main road.

The residents who converged as early as 7 o’clock, again protested against the arrest of two men by the police.

One resident, Lenford Cleghorn says the residents became upset after reports emerged that the men have been charged for the child’s murder.

However, Head of the St. Mary Police Superintendent Bobbett Morgan says the police have conducted meetings with residents and the results of the investigation have not changed.
