The ground breaking and sign unveiling ceremony for the Stafanie Taylor Oval took place yesterday in a brief function at the Eltham High School in st Catherine.

The oval was built in honour of Taylor ……Eltham high’s most famous alumni and the current captain of the West Indies women cricket team.

The brief function today was attended by several dignitaries including minister of sports Olivia grange, West Indies Players Association president Wavel Hinds, and Jamaica cricket association president Wilford ‘billy’ Heaven.

Taylor the ICC cricketer of the year in 2011… 2104 and 2015 led the West Indies to a world title last year, accomplishing that feat when the Caribbean team emerged champions at the ICC World T/20 Tournament.
