by September 26th, 2019

The second day of search has ended for a young boy who was washed away by flood waters, with still no sign of him.

It’s reported that yesterday afternoon, 9 year old Kyle Richards was among a group of people crossing a bridge in the community near Hermitage, when the adult realized that he had not crossed over.

An alarm was raised when the boy was seen in the gully being taken by the swift current.

Councillor for the Papine Division Venesha Phillips said, community residents, the police as well as persons from the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation continued the search today.

She said the Mayor provided tools which the residents used to search the dense bush along the river.

She said the police and the KSAMC are providing counselling support to the child’s relatives.

The search for today has ended and its hoped that, weather permitting, the teams can resume early tomorrow morning.
