by December 27th, 2021

The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) says it wants guarantees for all measures that will keep staff and students safe, prior to the resumption of face-to-face classes in January.

JTA President Winston Smith says these measures must be implemented and maintained.

Some schools have already resumed face-to-face learning, while others are to come on stream in the new year.

However, there is concern about omicron, the newest COVID-19 variant, and especially as health experts have said a fourth wave of the virus is expected early in the new year.
