A 16 year old boy was arrested by the St. Ann police after he was found in possession of a firearm in the Steer Town community, yesterday (Sep 21).

Commander for the St. Ann Police, Superintendent Michael Smith told Irie FM News that about 8:30 p.m. a team of officers on patrol in the Dam Head area of Steer Town accosted the boy and seized a revolver and 4 rounds of ammunition.

Superintendent Smith said in recent times, the police have noticed that armed men have been firing sporadic shots in the area.

He added that the police will continue their community intervention initiatives in Steer Town.
