Former Jamaica College football standout Tevin Rochester was named Kansas Jayhawk community college conference player of the week for week six of the NJCAA division 1 season in the United States.
The freshman continues his fast start to his collegiate career netting his first multi-goal game and distributing the game-winning assist last week to help keep Barton County community college atop the Jayhawk west standings with a 5-NIL win over Northwest Kansas Technical College.
Last Saturday he played a key role in the cougars’ 2-1 double-overtime win last weekend over garden city community college setting up Kansas Jayhawks leading goal scorer Gabriel Arraes for the game-winner.
The 19 year old has been one of the top midfielders in the NJCAA d1 so far, scoring 6 goals in 6 starts playing 10 games played overall) with 2 game winners.
During his schoolboy football years, Rochester was an integral part of a dominant JC setup that has won five straight Manning Cup and Olivier shield titles.
