Third game in T/20 cricket series between Windies and India women abandoned

by October 1st, 2018

The third game in the five match T/20 cricket series between the West Indies women’s team and India women at the Brian Lara stadium in Trinidad was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

This after torrential rains which affected the south of Trinidad early Sunday afternoon, left the ground too soggy for the contest to be played.

After three separate full-length inspections, umpires Jacqueline Williams, Joel Wilson and third umpire Zahid Bassarath decided that soggy spots within the 30 yard circle would be unsafe for the players.

The absence of a result in this fixture, means that the series remains 2-nil in favour of the Windies women, with the next match scheduled for this Thursday, also at the Brian Lara cricket academy.

The Windies women will be keen to tie up a series win in that encounter, with South Africa now only being able to draw the series at best.
