Three arrested following major drug bust off St. Elizabeth coast

Three men were arrested following the seizure of over 2,000 pounds of cocaine off the coast of Black River, St. Elizabeth, last night.

Police reports are that the men were on board a boat when it was intercepted by The 2nd District Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard.

Further checks revealed that there were 37 bags, each containing over 20 kilograms of cocaine.

The drug has an estimated street value of 1 billion Jamaican dollars.

The men were taken into police custody following the discovery.
