Three people died as a result of injuries they sustained in a two-vehicle crash on the Winston Jones highway close to Mandeville, Manchester on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as 43 year old Wayne Morris of Cheapside, Manchester, 25 year old Darnley Clarke a student of Glencoe District, Spalding, and an unidentified man.

Several other people were also injured in the crash which involved two taxis.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00 PM the taxis were traveling on the highway near the Mud Lake when they collided.

The occupants were taken to hospital where two of the deceased were pronounced dead and the third person succumbed later on.

The others were admitted for treatment.

Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell who said he was not far from the incident, is encouraging motorists to observe caution on the nation’s roads.
