Three foreign nationals among 7 charged in relation to illegal gun in St. Ann

Three foreign nationals are among seven people charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition following the seizure of an illegal weapon on Salem Main Road in St. Ann, yesterday (December 15).

Those charged are 29-year-old Chrisan Codling a Medical Assistant of Maryland, USA, 29-year-old Soldier, Rasheedi Jacobs of the United Kingdom and 29-year-old Tamecka Carter-Jacobs, a Quality Officer of the United Kingdom.

The other four are from Albert Town, Trelawny, they have been identified as 31-year-old farmer Gavin Barnett, 25-year-old student Lisandre Jacobs, 20-year-old student Riandre Jacobs and 24-year-old farmer Yakeim Shaw.

Reports from the Runaway Bay Police are that about 9:30 p.m., a police team acting on information intercepted a Toyota Isis motorcar.

A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted and a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing twelve 9mm cartridges was reportedly found inside a cross-bag beneath the front passenger seat.

All seven people were subsequently charged.

Their court date is being finalised.
