Three men are dead following a motor vehicle collision on the Llandovery main road, in St. Ann, this morning (January 1).

Dead are 23-year-old Jamar Taylor of Molynes Road, Kingston 10, Brenton Brown, a driver of Golden Grove in St. Ann and Carson Whittaker of Hampstead, Runaway Bay in St. Ann.

Reports from the Runaway Bay police are that about 12:05 a.m., Whittaker was driving, along the Llandovery main road, when he attempted to overtake a line of traffic.

He collided first into a Nissan Bluebird motorcar, then into an oncoming Toyota coaster bus, which was being driven by Brown.

The drivers and their passengers were taken to hospital where the three men succumbed to their injuries.

The others were admitted or treated and released.
