Three plead guilty to murder of mother & daughter in St Catherine

by November 6th, 2019

Three of the five men charged in relation to the murder of a mother and daughter in St. Catherine in 2011, have pleaded guilty to the charge.

They are Adrian Campbell, Roshane Goldson and Fabian Smith.

The men pleaded guilty today to the murder of 40-year-old Charmaine Tattray and 19-year-old Joeith Lynch.
The 2 women were shot and beheaded in July 2011, when gunmen kicked open the door to their house in Lauriston, St. Catherine.
Justice Vivienne Harris has put off sentencing until December 11, in the Home Circuit Court.
She also ordered a social enquiry report for the men.
Prosecutors had announced earlier that they would be seeking the death penalty for the gruesome murder.
But now that the three men have pleaded guilty to non-capital murder, they will escape the death penalty, which is hanging, although no hanging has taken place in Jamaica for more than 30 years.
Meantime, the other two accused men – Sanjay Ducally and Kemar Riley – have pleaded not guilty to murder.

Their trial has started in the Home Circuit Court.
The crown is alleging that the five were among eight men who entered the house and murdered the mother and daughter.
