Three men were shot, two of them fatally, in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Lespeth Barrett, and a man known as Michael Wallace.

Both men were construction workers.

The third man, who was wounded in the incident is being treated at hospital.

Reports are that the men were working at a site when residents heard explosions, and summoned the police.

On arrival of the lawmen, the three men were seen with multiple gun shot wounds.

They were taken to hospital where Barrett and Wallace were pronounced dead, and the third man admitted for treatment.
