Tony Kelly Recieves BMI Award

Grammy winning dancehall producer Tony Kelly, received two citations of achievement at the Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) R&B and Hip Hop Awards ceremony on Thursday evening.

Tony Kelly received both awards for the single ‘Luv’ by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez which sampled the Tony Kelly produced hit single ‘Everyone Falls In Love’ by Tanto Metro and Devonte.

Tony Kelly as Producer, and Publisher, through his Tony Kelly Music label copped the awards, with Luv being one of the 35 top performing R&B Hip Hop songs of the year, according to BMI’s broadcast measured performances.

In two celebratory posts on his social media pages, Tony Kelly had this advice to give, “Make classics and the world will copy and sample you.” Also, “Make sure you’re signed to a good deal with a good publishing company so you can control majority of your hard work.”

The BMI representing more than 750,000 songwriters, composers and publishers with nearly 12 million musical works, celebrates the songwriters, producers and publishers of the year as well as the most performed R&B and Hip Hop songs at its annual R&B and Hip Hop awards ceremony.
