Traffic police continue investigations into Germaine Mason accident

Head of the police traffic division Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen says investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Jamaican-born athlete whose motorcycle crashed in Kingston this morning (Apl 20).

Dead is thirty-four- year-old Germaine Mason, who is also a former national high jumper, of Toll Avenue, St. Andrew.

Reports from the Harbour View police are that about 4:20 a.m., Mason was driving a Honda CBR motorcycle along the Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard, when he allegedly lost control and fell from the motorcycle.

Mason was  pronounced dead at hospital. He was reportedly not wearing not a helmet.

In 2006, Mason began representing Great Britain. He attended Wolmer’s school in Kingston.
