by March 15th, 2022

Transport Authority is set to meet with disgruntled mini-bus operators tomorrow (March 16), over the Authority’s decision to grant 45 road licenses to taxi operators for the Buff Bay to Port Antonio route in Portland.

The bus operators yesterday withdrew their service to protest the Authority’s decision, leaving scores of commuters including students stranded.

One of the operators, Fitzroy Ormsby said he and his colleagues want the granting of licenses to taxi operators for the Buff Bay to Port Antonio route to be halted.

He said the Transport Authority had no dialogue with bus operators before making the 45 road licenses available for taxis.

Meantime, another bus operator, Anthony McCleary accused the taxi operators of overcharging passengers.
