Transport operators among motorists being warned that they will be charged if they resist arrest

by October 5th, 2022

Transport Operators and other motorists are being warned that if they resist arrest and engage the police in confrontations, they will be charged.

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson issued the warning during the police’s monthly press conference, yesterday (October 4).

It followed recent incidents captured on video, showing transport operators and the police involved in tussles.

Lamenting that these videos sometime only show a portion of the incidents, the Commissioner said more police officers will be equipped with body cameras to capture the interactions in full.

He is urging motorists to not resist arrest.

He also warned persons who interfere with the police while they are making arrests, that they will be arrested.
