by July 28th, 2018

The Trelawny police say they have identified some suspects in relation to the murder of a man in Stewart Town, this morning.

Head of the division Superintendent Dwight Powell says the police are not yet ready to name the suspects.

The suspects are being sought in connection to the killing of 43 year old farmer Michael Smith of Sawyers district in Stewart town.

Reports are that about 12:30 a.m. explosions were heard coming from Smith’s house.

The police were called and officers who responded found Smith suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

And, the Trelawny police are appealing to the persons who transported a gunshot victim to the Falmouth hospital 4 months ago, to contact them.

Reports are that on March 1, men travelling in a Nissan Titan motor vehicle dropped off a wounded man at the hospital.

The man – identified as Grifton Grant – later died.

Head of the division Superintendent Dwight Powell says investigators want to question the persons in the vehicle.

He is appealing to them to contact the Falmouth police station as soon as possible.
