Trent Boult grabs career best 7 wicket haul to crush ‘Windies’ in second ODI

Led by a career best seven wicket haul from Trent Boult New Zealand crushed the West Indies by 204 runs in the second one-day international at Hagley Oval in Christchurch today.

In the process the Caribbean men have surrendered the series with one game to play in the series.

The Kiwis batsmen first piled up 325 for 6 from their allotted 50 over with Henry Nicols top-scoring with 83 not out.

He got support from George Worker 58, Ross Taylor 57 and Todd Astle 49.

Sheldon Cottrell led the Windies attack with 3 for 62 while Captain Jason holder took 2 for 52.

Chasing 326 to win the Caribbean men were Skittled out for 121 in just 28 overs …their demise was engineered by Trent Boult who grabbed a career best 7 for 34.

Ashley Nurse 27 and Shai Hope 23 were the Top-scorers while Jason Mohammed made 18.

Windies captain Jason holder was again left to moan his team’s demise.

The third and final game will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
