Trinbago Knight Riders beat Amazon Warriors to reach CPL Twenty/20 final

Big-hitting New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro both made vital contributions as the defending champions Trinbago knight riders booked their spot in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty/20 final.

This after scoring a 20 runs win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots last night at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

Former black caps skipper McCullum (43 off 26 balls) and the competition’s leading run scorer Munro (29 off 31 balls) top scored for the defending champion Trinbago Knight Riders as they posted 165 for 6 in batting first.

This against Sheldon Cottrel 2 for 24.

At their turn to bat and chasing 167 to win the patriots fell at 145 for 8.

Devon Thomas top scored with 35, as Jamaican Brandon King supported with 33 and Fabian Allen was left not out on 32. Chris Gayle earlier fell for a duck.

Trinibago Knight Riders captain Dwayne Bravo praised his team for a glorious performance.

The Knight Riders will now play the Guyana Amazon Warriors in tomorrow’s final.
