Trini quartet in line for possible Windies recall after joining Red Force Regional Super50 squad

by September 14th, 2018

Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Darren Bravo and Lendl Simmons have made another step towards returning to the West Indies for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England.

The quartet have made themselves available to play for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the upcoming Cricket West Indies Super50 which will be staged in Trinidad and Barbados from October 3-28.

The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board release stated that all four have been named in the Red Force squad with Dwayne Bravo as vice-captain of the team which will be led by wicket-keeper batsman Denesh Ramdin.

Pacer Ravi Rampaul, who last played for the Windies in 2015, has also been named in the squad.

This latest development came after it had emerged in July of this year that talks were ongoing between the players and Cricket West Indies.

The board subsequently shifted the Regional Super50 from February 2019 to October this year, to ensure minimal clash between the domestic 50-over competition and various T20 leagues around the world that the players are a part of.

The developments serve to further bridge the differences between the players and the board that began when Narine, Pollard and Darren Bravo chose to play in the Pakistan Super League over representing the Windies in the ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
