Tufton says there were challenges in getting asphalt to fix Point Hill roadways

Member of Parliament for West Central St. Catherine, Dr. Christopher Tufton, has indicated, that there were challenges with getting asphalt to fix some roadways, in the Point Hill community.

This in the wake of 3 days of protest by irate taxi drivers over poor road conditions.

Dr Tufton, along with representatives from the National Works Agency, met with the taxi drivers on Wednesday.

He explained, that repair work has begun on some roadways.

Dr tufton also explained, that a project to lay pipelines has been delayed, and road works cannot start until the pipeline is completed.

He has asked the NWA, to do an assessment of the affected roadways, to determine which ones can be fixed temporarily, until the pipe laying project is done.
