UCASE hoping for response from Port Security Corp regarding outstanding wage negotiations

by January 24th, 2022

The Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE) says it’s hoping for a response by Monday from the board of the Port Security Corp regarding the outstanding wage and fringe benefits negotiation for workers.

The union wrote to the board chairman about the claim which was served on the company in February 2018.

UCASE president Vincent Morrison says if the claims are not dealt with by February 11, the union will instruct the employees to take the necessary action to have the claims resolved.

Meantime, he adds that the Port Security Corp should not await government’s announcement on the national minimum wage, as Port Security Corp employees should not be classified under the existing minimum wage arrangement.

He says the union is available to meet with the board chairman on the issue.
