UPDATE: Man responsible for bomb threat should report to nearest police station immediately

The police have asked the man who has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s (June 4) bomb threat at the Rubis Gas Station, in Ocho Rios, St Ann to turn himself in.

 

The threat, which was made via social media, disrupted the operations of several businesses in the area for several hours as emergency personnel responded to the threat.

 

Personnel from the Fire Brigade, the Jamaica Defence Force and the police bomb squad responded to the threat, while the area was evacuated.

 

No bomb was found after an extensive search was conducted.

 

Hours later, a man claiming responsibility for the incident, released a video on social media, saying the threat was a prank.

 

The police are urging this individual to present himself at the nearest police station immediately.
