The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has called an emergency meeting with the National Water Commission (NWC) and the unions representing the workers to address the concerns of employees.

Workers at the NWC have taken industrial action islandwide today (May 10) resulting in thousands of Jamaicans being without water supply.

The workers are demanding better compensation from the Government.

The meeting is scheduled for 12:30 today at the Ministry’s Kingston office.
