UPDATE: Police identify woman killed in fiery St. Ann crash, this morning

The police have identified the woman killed in a fiery motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of the Bahia Principe Hotel in Runaway Bay, St. Ann, this morning (March 13).

Dead is 38-year-old Anastacia Edwards of Hampton Heights, Runaway Bay.

Head of Operations at the St. Ann Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis told Irie Fm News that the accident involved three vehicles- a tractor trailer, a motor truck and a Honda motor car.

He said at about 6am, Edwards who was driving the motor car and the driver of the tractor trailer were travelling towards Discovery Bay, when the driver of the truck which was travelling in the opposite direction lost control of the vehicle.

The truck swayed into the path of the tractor trailer, hitting the rear wheel.

The truck then landed on top of Edward’s car, which burst into flames.

She reportedly died on the spot.

DSP Francis said the occupants of the truck were taken to hospital.
