The Portland police are working with the Jamaica Fire Brigade to determine the cause of a fire which destroyed four shops in Fairy Hill yesterday (March 7).

The fire which started at around 4 AM has left several business people counting their losses.

It also followed protests by residents about water disruptions and dust nuisance related to road works on Monday.

Head of the Portland police, Superintendent Lloyd Darby, has expressed concern about social media posts in relation to the cause of the fire.
