A call is being made for citizens to donate blood to the island’s public hospitals.

Chief Executive Officer at the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, Dennis Morgan told IRIE F-M news that blood is in short supply at the nation’s hospitals.

He noted that while a blood drive conducted at the hospital as part of its Labour Day activities saw a good turnout yesterday (May 23) blood is always needed in more abundant supplies.
