United States Law Enforcement will be seeking to have several Jamaicans extradited to face the court, in relation to alleged involvement in lottery scamming.

US Postal Inspection service attache at the US Embassy in Kingston, Dominic Riley says a number of warrants will be issued by as early as this month.

He was speaking on the topic of lottery scamming and the impact on crime and violence, at the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce Security Summit in St. James, today (April 7).

Mr. Riley did not say how many extradition warrants would be issued.

He added that US authorities have not lost the war on lottery scamming.

Mr. Riley indicated that there are similarities with lottery scamming and the drug gangs of the 1990’s.

He noted that many people seem to believe that lottery scamming is a victimless crime.

However Mr. Riley stated that it’s a targeted attack on the most vulnerable population.

The average victim is over 65 years of age.
