Usain Bolt scores twice on debut

by October 12th, 2018

Triple  world  record  holder  Usain  Bolt  scored  his  first  professional  league  goal  today  when  he  slammed  in  a  double   for  his  Australian a  league  side   central  Coast  Mariners  in  an  important  trial  match  against  Macauther South West  United  at  the  Campbell  Town  stadium  in  New  South  Wales.

The former sprint star spearheaded the attack next to new signings Tommy oar and Ross McCormack and was involved in the action from the opening whistle.

The  8  time  Olympic  champion  in  his  first  start  for  the  mariners  started  the  second  half  brace  10  minutes  after  the  resumption.

Again sporting the no 95 jersey  – a reference to his world record time over 100 metres – and playing up front, he  scored  the  second  shortly  after  courtesy  of    a  defensive error   to  give  the  mariners  a  4-nil  win  before  he  was  substituted  in the  75th  minute.

The decision to withdraw him with 15 minutes remaining – with the prospect of a hat-trick tantalisingly close – was met with predictable boos and he departed the field to a standing ovation.

He describes his performance  as  a  big  deal.

The double strike  is a major boost to bolt’s chances of joining the club on a permanent deal.
