Usain Bolt to try out for German Soccer Club Dortmund

The famous Jamaican sprinter has always harbored ambitions of playing professional soccer. He has always said he planned to pursue a soccer career after his track career ended. It appears he’s going to get his start in March.

Bolt Conformed Sunday that he will go on trial with German Bundesliga club Borrusia Dortmund in March. The tryout was set up by Puma, which has sponsored both Bolt and Dortmund. It has long been discussed. Now, it appears, it’s actually going to happen.

“In March we’re going to do a trials with Dortmund and that will determine what I do with that career, which way it goes,”. “If they say I’m good, and that I need a bit of training, I’ll do it.”

Bolt has had a long-standing invitation to train with Dortmund. Dortmund CEO Hans -Joachim Watzke said over a year ago that the invitation was “no joke” and “not a marketing move.”

The trial has been put off by various track events and Bolt’s injuries.
