The University of Technology Administrative Staff Association, Utasa, says it will be engaging in a series of protest action, at the entrance of the University of Technology, in Kingston, starting Monday.

Utasa says, the protest action, is over the administration’s failure to conclude on a salary review exercise, which has been outstanding for more than five years.

In a release on Sunday, Utasa said, no meaningful effort has been made by the management in that regard, which has led to the frustration of the staff.

It said, the situation has been made more complicated, with the recent public sector compensation review, and Utasa has been unable to get any definitive position from Utech’s administration, as to where members of the administrative staff, would fall within the new compensation structure.

Utasa said, efforts to have a meeting with the ministry of finance for clarification have failed.

Speaking with Irie Fm news Utasa’s President, Janette Grayson said, Monday‘s protest will be an expression of the growing frustration of its members.

The protesters will wear black on Monday.
