Vauxhall High mourns student shot dead yesterday

by March 27th, 2018

The Vauxhall High school in Kingston was plunged into mourning, following the killing of a grade nine student in his community, last evening (Mar 26).

16-year-old Kevon Heaven of Conrod lane was shot and killed along john’s lane about 9:38 p.m.

Two other men were shot and wounded in the incident.

Principal of Vauxhall High, Prudence Brown Pinnock says members of the school population were overcome with grief, on hearing of Kevon’s killing, even as they were preparing to sit end of term exams.

She says he was a respectful and humble student, who was desperate to get out of the negative influences of his environment.

Mrs. Brown Pinnock says there were two major exams today, but they worked around them and tried not to disrupt the exams totally.

She says the guidance department will work with other schools in the area, to provide grief counselling to the students.
